Another legend in the world of wrestling is dead!

The erstwhile AWA Tag Team Champion “Pretty Boy” Doug Somers has kicked the bucket. He took his last breath this week at the age of 65.

He spent the bests of his time in AWA with several bouts in different promotions, he was trained by the popular WWE Hall of Famer Harley Race. He has worked with several professional bodies including the Mid-Atlantic Wrestling.

Part of his interesting bouts was when he and Buddy Rose popularly known as “Playboy” when they defeated Curt Hennig and Scott Hall back in May 1986 for the AWA Tag Team Titles.

Somers has worked for the WWE enhancement likewise the WCW. His last match was in 2012 at the Indie match in 2012. He had a litigation case against the WWE in 2011 over the company use of AWA footage with his likeness which never went in his favour.
