Colt Cabana Reveals His Behind-The-Scene Role At AEW

Colt Cabana recently spoke about his role in All Elite Wrestling (AEW) during a discussion.

After a few AEW appearances in 2019, Colt Cabana officially joined the promotion in 2020.

Initially at odds with the Dark Order, he eventually became a member of the faction and attended the Brody Lee Celebration of Life memorial event in December.

His involvement with Colt Cabana and CM Punk was a notable aspect of his journey.

Their personal feud came to the fore last year when Punk made a controversial comment during a post-show media skirmish at AEW All Out 2022.

Punk had also humorously mentioned a joint bank account with Kavanagh’s mother.

Colt Cabana hasn’t appeared on AEW television since challenging Chris Jericho for the ROH World Championship last November, but he’s still active on the independent wrestling scene.

He recently appeared in a match on the April 20 episode of ROH TV.

In a conversation with Muscleman Malcolm, Kavanagh elaborated on his own role in AEW. While Cabana humbly downplayed being called “AEW’s huge superstar,”

he did reveal his contributions behind the scenes. He revealed that he helped with the backstage work and was involved in the production of the corner. he shared:

“I don’t know about big AEW superstar. I’m there, I get a check.

Sometimes I get on the shows. I do help backstage, I do a lot of producing.”

Cabana was further questioned about his own specific contributions, referring to his involvement in producing the Orange Cassidy vs. Wheeler Uta match on the August 16 episode of AEW Dynamite.

With his extensive wrestling experience, Cabana explained his role in guiding his camera angles and predictions:

“I was producer for Orange Cassidy and Wheeler Yuta. I was on the headsets and helping the director.

As a producer, because I know wrestling, the director might not know wrestling, so I’ll be on the headset and I can kind of see,

‘You might want to get this angle because this might happen.’

It usually does because I’ve been wrestling for so long, I can foresee it.”

Cabana’s victory over Matt Cardona at the Wrestling Showcase event in Metuchen, New Jersey on September 9 to become the inaugural Premier World Champion marked his continued success in the wrestling industry.

It also emphasized contribution and influence.
