One of the top prospects in the US indies, Ricky Starks was an early signee with the NWA, signing with the company in August of 2019 after appearing at the NWA 70th Anniversary Show PPV the previous fall, where he competed in a Fatal Four Way for the NWA National Championship that was ultimately won by Wille Mack.

With the launch of NWA Powerrr in the fall of 2019, Starks would become one of their young stars, winning the NWA World Television Championship in the tournament finals, against Trevor Murdoch, at NWA Hard Times on January 24 of this year.
