John Cena Unaware Of Payback Role Until Last Minute

WWE hasn’t brought a pay-per-view to Pittsburgh for a while, but Payback has given these fans something big to get excited about.

During John Cena’s promotion on SmackDown this week, John Cena was told he would be hosting WWE Payback just before speaking to his fans.

It turns out that it is not far from the truth.

Sean Sapp pointed out from behind the Fightful Paywall that Friday was a real update on John Cena’s WWE Payback role.

“The idea to have John Cena host didn’t occur until very recently, and he wasn’t told until Friday.”

So he didn’t have a lot of time to prepare what he would say live.

That’s interesting, as he reported on Thursday night that John Cena is set to host Payback.

Apparently he doesn’t keep up to date with the WWE news cycle.
