Kevin Owens Reveals The Truth Behind Staying Back At WWE

The WWE Universe has been left to speculate on Kevin Owens’ future with the company in 2021 when his contract is about to expire.

However, in a surprising turn of events, Owens decided to re-sign with WWE for a reported $2-3 million before the end of the year.

Since reuniting with WWE, Kevin Owens has become an even bigger figure on the roster. He has topped two WrestleManias and currently holds the undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship alongside his longtime best friend, Sami Zayn.

In a candid conversation with TNT Sports’ Ariel Helwani, Kevin Owens explained why he decided to stay in WWE.

He revealed that the key factor was Vince McMahon’s desire for him to stay with the company, combined with his own feeling that he still has a lot to accomplish in WWE.

“I don’t know how badly they [WWE] wanted me to stay here, I don’t know what could happen anywhere else, I don’t know. And to be honest… There was no clue

“Because in one conversation with Vince, he made it very clear that he wanted me to stay. And I feel like I wasn’t done here.

Not even career wise, but there’s also an aspect of this place that people don’t see, that people don’t know about.

While contract negotiations are often complex and can involve a variety of factors, it appears that Vince McMahon’s personal interest in retaining Kevin Owens played a significant role in the exit process and the wrestler’s decision.

The trust and support of the Chairman of the WWE Board of Directors greatly influenced Owens’ choice to continue his journey with the company.

However, as fate would have it, Kevin Owens is currently struggling with a rib injury that has sidelined him, forcing him to miss the highly anticipated WWE SummerSlam 2023 event this Saturday.

While he can’t be in the game at this point, Owens is sure to return with the same determination and passion that has made him such a beloved figure in the wrestling world.
