WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon may have to splash a lot of money to keep Universal Champion Brock Lesnar and RAW Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey after WrestleMania 35.
Rumours suggest UFC legends Lesnar and Rousey may leave WWE after WrestleMania, which takes place on April 7 at the MetLife Stadium in New York.
The Universal Champion has been linked with a return to the Octagon to take on Daniel Cormier for the UFC Heavyweight Championship.
There is speculation the RAW Women’s Champion may also leave after Mania due to the company’s arduous traveling schedule and because she wants to start a family with husband Travis Browne.
According to Cageside Seats, this could force McMahon’s hand to throw in a lot of money to convince two of his star attractions to stick around with the wrestling giants.
However, The Chairman recently addressed reports regarding Rousey and looked like he’s not worried about losing her.
The WWE supremo also claimed that he is ready to deal with a potential high-profile departure.
McMahon said: “She knows how to do it, she’s one of the brightest people we’ve ever done business with.
“And the fact that she’s adapted to the WWE culture so fast, it really is truly an amazing salute to her as an athlete and as a human being.
“So, the Rondas will come in and out, and when they do, as long as we know what those dates are, we plan around it.”
WWE also previously stated that Rousey is under contract with the promotion for another two years.
A statement read: “Ronda Rousey is under contract with WWE until April 10, 2021.
“Whether she wants to start a family is a private matter.”
As for Lesnar, there has been no update regarding a UFC comeback and a title fight against Cormier.
DC was previously open to the idea of facing the WWE megastar and even urged The Beast to bring the Universal Championship with him to Dana White’s promotion.
The Heavyweight Champion said: “Brock Lesnar, when you come, bring that new WWE title.
“I feel like becoming a WWE champion too.
“Bring that belt with you if you come to my house.”
FAREWELL: Finally Alicia Fox’s WWE Release For Showing Up Intoxicated At WWE Live Event… See Huge WWE Announcement
Alica Fox showed up intoxicated to a WWE live event and Arn Anderson let her wrestle anyway. However, only Arn Anderson was fired for this offense.
The internet is not liking that at all and they are coming out about the subject in a big way.
The fine folks on Reddit have been sounding off about this story. A majority of people don’t have very nice things to say either. If you would like to see the entire thread, you can get that Reddit goodness here. Otherwise, here are some immediate reactions to the story.
“I agree, but how does Fox still have a job then?”
“Well she hasn’t wrestled in nearly a month, the WWE equivalent of semi-unpayed leave. They’re probably weighing their options or are working with her somehow.”
“100% she should be fired. She showed up and put a co-workers life at risk, and that’d get you fired from pretty much any other job, so WWE really shouldn’t be any different.”
“To be fair to Arn, how can anyone tell if Alicia Fox is drunk or sober?”
“Well apparently Alicia Fox is confrontational drunk cause there was that video of her yelling at Travis Browne Wrestlemania last weekend. John Thorne of AIW on his podcast confirmed she was drunk and started getting mad at him for no reason when he was talking to Hawkins and Swoggle”
“Uhm, is Alicia Fox not gonna get any severe punishment? That’s insanely unprofessional at the very least…”
“If this is true, this reflects pretty bad on Arn.”
“I think I see what happened. Arn probably thought since it was a 6 person tag, Alicia wouldn’t have to work, she could just stand on the apron, get bumped once and that’s the end of it.”
“Still the dumbest decision though. Send her home, discipline later, and throw someone else in at the last minute in her place.”
“It seems like that incident with Alicia Fox and Travis Browne makes more sense now”
“How does Alicia Fox keep her job it’s amazing that she’s been in the company for 10+ years.”
“Yes, Arn shouldn’t have let her wrestle, but this is completely irresponsible on Fox’s part. If you’re not 100% with it in the ring, you are risking yourself and the people involved in the match with you. Someone that has been with the company that long should know better.”
“Surely Fawwwwks is out the door too then? Completely unacceptable by both of them if this is true.”
These are individual opinions and WWE will take their own course of action in this matter. They might try and give Foxy a chance to clean up her act, however, if they listen to the fans on Squared Circle, then it might not be a good week for Alicia Fox.
Alexa Bliss WWE Release
Words going round now is that Alexa Bliss might be released from WWE sooner than later.
The closest she got from WWE recently was when WWE announced that Alexa Bliss will not be competing at Sunday’s Evolution pay-per-view. Bliss suffered a concussion or a broken nose at last Saturday’s live event and she has been out of action since. It was believed she would be good to go but WWE has pulled her from the match, WWE had announced.
Alicia Fox will be replacing Bliss in the match with Mickie James against WWE Hall of Famers Lita and Trish Stratus. Bliss will be in their corner.
Since then, rumours have been going round that Alexa Bliss might be asked to leave the company this year or shifted to other non-wrestling roles.
