To some, he is the ultimate hero in WWE: willing to walk away from the biggest company in the world because of his beliefs.
To others, he’s nothing more than a brat, who threw his toys out of the pram and left the company because he didn’t get his way.
However you feel about the Second City Savior, Punk made headlines just a few hours ago when he returned to the ring for the first time since his WWE departure in 2014.
Competing under a mask could not hide the former World Champion’s star-power, as now fans are clamoring to see more of Punk, who has so far been unsuccessful in his UFC career thus far with a 0-2 record.
Here are four dream matches that could happen for the Best in the World after he returned to the squared circle.
#WWE Champion Kofi Kingston
In 2019 though, Kingston and the New Day are one of the most beloved parts of WWE, with the Ghanian Superstar riding high as WWE Champion.
Obviously, this would be one of the most difficult matches to arrange, given Punk’s disdain for the WWE.
With that said though, Kofi and Punk are long-time friends, and the Chicago Made star has even said how much he loves the New Day, despite not being a follower of WWE content.
What better way than to give his old friend the spotlight, than returning to the company and feuding with the bastion of positivity.

Who would have thought in 2002 that when Bubba Ray attempted to make it as a singles star on RAW, dancing on the stage, that he would one day become one of wrestling’s biggest heels.
A traditionalist who defines being a heel (including refusing to attend meet and greets), Bully Ray was a dominant force in Impact Wrestling and has continued those ways in Ring of Honor.
ROH, an old stomping ground for Punk, has been continuing on, but with the creation of All Elite Wrestling and the continued success of New Japan Pro Wrestling, has been pushed out of the picture for many fans.
What better way to get fans talking about the promotion again than by having these two huge stars tear the house down in front of a loyal ROH crowd.
Kenny Omega is one of the hottest talents in wrestling today.
A former IWGP Heavyweight Champion, Omega has made a huge name for himself as part of New Japan Pro Wrestling, and had a huge part at independent super-show, ALL IN.
Much like Punk, Omega isn’t too fond of WWE, working with them under a developmental contract years ago, and has turned down numerous offers since making it big.
A match between the two would be a dream for countless fans, as the pair have had very similar careers.
Predicting which one of them would walk away with the victory in such an epic encounter is impossible, though we know that this match would be a dream come true for many wrestling fans.
