The 48-year-old WWE legend hospitalised with a digestive disease…
The SmackDown Live Commissioner was expected to team up with Daniel Bryan to face Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens in the recent PPV but that was halted owing to health issue.
WWE legend Shane McMahon was hospitalised with a digestive disease which thwarted his WWE mega dream match.
The SmackDown Live Commissioner was expected to team up with Daniel Bryan to face Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens in New Orleans.
He has not been seen on nights shows for the last few months, when he was attacked by the rival duo. Shane McMahon has suffered a severe infection and has decided to take a break from the company’s activities.
The 48-year-old son of owner Vince McMahon was on holiday with his family in the Caribbean when he was taken ill.
He is expected to undergo surgery in New York once the infection is cleared, hence he missed the WrestleMania 34 PPV show.
The WWE said in a statement: “Following the vicious assault, McMahon went to the Caribbean with his family to rest and recuperate.
“While there, Shane developed a massive infection due to acute diverticulitis and was hospitalised for several days in Antigua.
“He was then flown back to a New York-area hospital, where he is currently being treated with heavy doses of antibiotics.
“The doctors in New York have also discovered that Shane suffered an umbilical hernia during the attack.
“It will require surgery once the infection has been eradicated.”
McMahon revealed yesterday he was on the mend and thanked fans for their support as he recovered.
