Former WCW wrestler Maxx Muscle has passed away at 56 years old, wrestlingnewsplus.com can report authoritatively.
We are sad to report that former WCW wrestler Max Muscle (later changed to Maxx Muscle, real name John Czawlytko) passed away at the age of 56.
Czawlytko began wrestling in the early 90s and was signed by World Championship Wrestling in 1993 after a career as a bodybuilder.
Long-time fans may remember that he started wrestling in WCW as Big Bad John but was later repackaged as “Diamond” Dallas Page’s bodyguard who would help him out in arm wrestling contests.
He eventually broke away from DDP and joined Kevin Sullivan’s Dungeon of Doom, where he was simply known as Maxx.
For most of his run, he was primarily used on WCW Saturday Night and as a step above an enhancement talent on WCW Monday Nitro.
Czawlytko wrestled on some independent shows after WCW before retiring in 2003.
We send out deepest condolences to his family and friends. There is no word yet on the cause of death.
