That’s a different kind of boss. AEW is one of the most unique wrestling promotions in recent memory and that is not a bad thing. It has been less than a year since their first show and less than six months since their first weekly television show but they are already feeling like an established company. A lot of that is due to their boss and it turns out he has more to do with things than signing a check.
AEW President Tony Khan is known as a lifelong wrestling fan, which would not seem to be the most common situation for a millionaire businessman. However, it is true for Khan, who has become one of the most influential people in all of wrestling. His new role in AEW has allowed him to put his love of wrestling into practice and it turns out that he is going to be doing that on a bigger scale.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Khan will be taking more of an active role in the AEW creative process going forward. Opinion: This is a fine idea, as long as it actually works. I’m not sure what kind of a wrestling mind Khan had but it’s worth a shot. Maybe he can do well enough to make the show that much better, but you never can tell with something like this. Granted in this case there isn’t much to go on, which is the problem with such a concept. Maybe we’ll get to see something fresh from Khan, as some new ideas might help the wrestling business.
