The wrestling giants have now revealed that both Darren Young and Summer Rae have also had their contracts terminate.

A statement on the WWE website read: “WWE has come to terms on the releases of WWE Superstars Emma, Darren Young and Summer Rae.

“WWE wishes them the best in all of their future endeavours.”

Emma’s departure was the main shock for WWE fans when it was announced.

After spending months in the background, she had recently been on the receiving end of a push on the Raw flagship show.

With news of Emma’s release just breaking, WWE announced Darren Young and Summer Rae are also finished with the company. Here’s WWE’s updated statement:

“WWE has come to terms on the releases of WWE Superstars Emma, Darren Young and Summer Rae.

WWE wishes them the best in all of their future endeavors.”

Summer Rae was drafted to Raw in 2016, but due to neck and back injuries, she never appeared on the brand, despite being reportedly cleared in May. Summer posted this 14 hours ago, which could be referencing her impending release:

“Never trippin’ off the past, I would rather never mind ’em. Cuz only fools trip over somethin’ that be behind them.”

In 2016, Darren Young, looked to restart his singles career with the “Make Darren Young Great Again” gimmick alongside Bob Backlund, while also bouncing back to the tag division from time to time. An arm injury during a tag match on Main Event in January kept Young on the shelf, until his return to the ring in early September. Young appeared at “WWE Night” at last night’s Los Angeles Clippers game.
